The Westover Road premises includes a day care nursery which is licensed to take up to 25 children in the 2-5 year age group. With its own separate entrance in Hinton Road, it is run by well-qualified staff and offers a range of educational and recreational activities, including supervised trips to the local park, gardens, shops and the beach as well as to other nearby attractions.

Teddy’s Place has been established since 1988 and is registered with Ofsted as a provider of childcare to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

In 2015, Ofsted said the provision is GOOD in all areas regarding quality and standard. They stated;

“Children are happy and confident in the nursery” and staff got great recognition with comments such as;

“The staff are very sensitive to the children’s individual needs. They adapt their approach to help all children to settle well and feel comfortable in the nursery” and “Staff offer excellent support for children with additional learning needs. They closely monitor children’s progress to target the support they offer. This helps to ensure that all children are supported in reaching their full potential.”

Pricing and Grant Funding

Excellence does not have to equal expense! Our rates are reasonable and every penny is reinvested in the nursery or in the wider community work of the YMCA.

We are registered to accept nursery education grant funding (2’s 2 and 3+4 years). Government funding can help reduce the cost for you even further.

There have been lovely comments on exit questionnaires from parents:

“I would like to say a huge Thank You for the care given… She enjoys coming to the nursery. Teddy’s Place is a beautiful place with a professional team. I will always recommend Teddy’s Place.”

“Thank you for your brilliant care. We have other children who have been to other nurseries but this was the best by far. Very supportive and caring staff. We will miss bringing… here. She was always so excited about coming. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.”

“All I would like to say is that the staff at the nursery are absolutely amazing! I would like to thank the girls for looking after and taking care of my little boy during the past year! And they helped him to grow so much.”

“Actually this is the best nursery I have seen. The teachers are very helpful, smiling all the time, and what I like more is there are many different nationalities at the nursery and teachers treat them equally.”

“Well done to all the friendly staff for assisting my boy to be who he is. For your flexibility in times of need, for regular updates on progress and obviously accommodating my child care anxieties and concerns. Highly appreciated and recognised.”

“Thank you all for your dedicated and caring work which has helped… achieve so much over the past three years. We have no doubt that… would not be the confident, helpful and happy person she is today without the input and guidance from you all. We wish each of you every success and happiness in the future.”
