We offer two safeguarding courses: one for Adults in Health and Social Care and the other for Protecting Children and Young People.
Level Two Award in Safeguarding Adults in Health and Social Care – One Day
Course Contents
This course runs for seven hours, between 9.30am – 4.30pm and can serve a maximum of 12 people.
- Understand the principles of safeguarding adults at risk in health and social care
- Be able to identify those at risk from harm
- Know how to reduce the likelihood of abuse in health and social care
- Know how to respond to suspicion or reports of abuse
Prerequisites
This qualification is available to those over 18 years. No previous knowledge is required, although it is recommended that learners have a minimum of Level one literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
About the Qualification
YMCA Bournemouth has teamed with Robust Safety Solutions, registered with UK Qualifications Network (UKQN) as an authorised training centre, to deliver this nationally recognised qualification. The qualification is regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA Regulation in Northern Ireland.
The qualification has been mapped against standard 10 of the Care Certificate and prepares learners for employment within the health and social care setting or can be undertaken by those already working in the sector as part of professional development.
Re-qualification is recommended after three years. For more information about this qualification, click here.
Learning Outcomes
This qualification indicates the individual can understand and apply the principles of adult safeguarding. The individual will have successfully learnt the course content which is designed to meet current UK legislation.

- Know how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused

This qualification is available to those over 18 years. No previous knowledge is required, although it is recommended that learners have a minimum of Level one literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
