Westover Road – Facility Closure
- Sports Hall Last day of operations will be Friday 31 May 2024
- Gymnasium – Last day of operations will be Sunday 30 June 2024
- Hinton Room – Last day of operations will be Wednesday 31 July 2024
The reason for the closure is that YMCA will be knocking down the rear part of the building, where we currently have 22 flats, as well as the need to close the Sports Hall area for a major redevelopment which will see 60 purpose built rooms, with a kitchen on each floor, for our supported housing clients to use.
As part of the development there will be a brand new Gym facility available for the all/public to use.
Ultimately improving the quality and capacity of our accommodation.
The expected/projected date for the completion of works, with a new Gymnasium in place, will be March 2026.

All equipment is provided free of charge.
