Sarah Gallagher (Self-Management Team Lead) and Andrea Dawson (Social Prescriber) recently donated two knitted blankets to YMCA Bournemouth for use by their residents.
The blankest were made by the Knit and Stitch group that they attend.
Andrea said “The group meet every other Thursday. It is a group for patients, registered with any one of the four surgeries in the central Bournemouth primary care network, who enjoy crafts. All crafts are welcome – beginners and advanced. It’s a chance for people to meet with others in a welcoming and safe space, to make friends and to break the cycle of social exclusion. We chose the YMCA because we wanted the blankets to be donated to a good cause where they would find a good home.”
