YMCA Bournemouth are hugely grateful for the contribution made by volunteers across the organisation.

There are numerous ways in which you can support us with your time, whether it’s volunteering for one-off tasks or taking regular volunteering duties with our youth, family and relationships, building services, marketing, sports and leisure, supported housing or chaplaincy departments.

People choose to volunteer for a number of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community. For others it allows them to develop new skills or build on existing experience to benefit their careers.

Whatever the motivation, volunteering with YMCA Bournemouth is both challenging and hugely rewarding. Why not give it a try? You will be made very welcome.

Please see our current opportunities listed below or for general volunteering enquiries please complete the contact form below.

Up and Coming Events – We need you!

YMCA Sleep Easy Events

  • Outline: We have 50-100 people sleeping rough for one night to raise money to support the homeless
  • Why we need volunteers: Help on the night with registration, shelter building, night time activities
  • And, of course, we’d love for people to contact us who’d like to take part as a fundraiser: Sleep rough so others don’t have to!

If you are interested in any of these positions or volunteering please complete the contact form below.

Chaplaincy Support Volunteer

Right now, our chaplaincy team want to expand the support they offer. We currently run sessions to engage, encourage and come alongside residents at our Westover Road site. But we want to offer pastoral support across even more days of the week. Could you help us?

Chaplaincy volunteers are vital to our work and play an active role in support of our paid chaplains. They assist us to deliver activities, provide pastoral support to individuals, help on retreats and engage with our weekly prayers. Its challenging yet rewarding.
