Right now, our chaplaincy team want to expand the support they offer.  We currently run sessions to engage, encourage and come alongside residents at our Westover Road site. But we want to offer pastoral support across even more days of the week.  Could you help us?

How do I get involved:

Chaplaincy volunteers are vital to our work and play an active role in support of our paid chaplains. They assist us to deliver activities, provide pastoral support to individuals, help on retreats and engage with our weekly prayers. Its challenging yet rewarding.

About you:

  • Willing to come alongside vulnerable people and offer a listening ear.
  • Able to build bridges to support and encourage people of all faiths and none.
  • Over 18 and willing to undertake a DBS and reference check.
  • Available on a weekly basis for a couple of hours.

Whats in it for me?

  • Role specific training including Safeguarding, Listening skills and Addiction Awareness.
  • Support from a community chaplain and volunteer coordinator.
  • Become part of a small but passionate team.
  • Meet some incredible people.
  • Reasonable expenses covered.

What happens next.

All our volunteers become part of the wider Y family and bring fresh energy to our staff teams. To join us, you will need to complete an application form. We will then arrange to meet you face-to-face. It’s important to come and visit us on site so you can see for yourself and feel confident you can support us. You will also need to complete a DBS check and our induction programme.
