AFCB recently donated £1,000 towards much needed equipment for the Townsend Youth Partnership.
The Townsend Youth Partnership is situated on the Townsend estate in Bournemouth.
The Partnership provides a safe place for young people to go, providing positive opportunities for them to develop personal and social/interpersonal skills.
Open and detached youth work is provided from this safe space.
The youth centre space is used by a number of youth groups for young people aged 13-19 years old.
Young people are supported by trained youth workers, who are able to advise, encourage and work with young people at a critical time in their lives, to maximise their potential.
The Chatterboxes, a youth action project run by young people with disabilities aged 11-25 years old, is also delivered as part of the partnership’s wider outreach work, attracting young people from all over Dorset.
The Centre is also home to a community children’s project for 5-12-year-olds and contact centre sessions for parents who require supervised contact with their child/ren.
In total, around 150 individuals access the centre each week.
