YMCA Bournemouth Family Help Team works to support families in a range of settings with children aged up to 8 years old across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.
As part of this work the team is promoting oral health and hygiene for families, which has become a necessary focus given the difficulties many families face in accessing dental care in their communities.
There is increasing evidence and concern about the prevalence of tooth decay in early childhood which can potentially lead to decay, pain and more complex infections. Establishing good oral hygiene habits early in life is crucial for preventing dental problems in the future. Similarly, educating families in these practices can significantly improve children’s overall health and well-being and as a consequence foster healthier communities.
To strengthen YMCA Bournemouth’s efforts and reach to families, they are seeking donations of:
- Toothpaste
- Children’s Toothbrushes
- Adult Toothbrushes
These donations will be distributed to families who, for a range of reasons, do not have access to these essential items necessary to maintain good oral hygiene. Your generous donation of these basic dental care items will make a significant difference to many families in our community and enhance our contribution to improving children’s oral health and well-being.
Please leave or send your donations to YMCA’s:
The Stourvale Centre, 108 Stourvale Road, Bournemouth BH6 5JB
