We run various youth services in the BCP area, including Townsend Youth Club and the ‘Chatterboxes group for young people with disabilities and we work to inspire, train, mentor and support young people to empower them for life and to lead in the challenges of their generation. The Youth Development Coordinator will coordinate and manage YMCA Bournemouth’s Youth Services (for children and young people aged between 5-26 years old), always ensuring that young people are at the heart of service provision and development. It is an exciting time for a Youth Development Coordinator to start with us as we look to put our new youth strategy into place and coordinate work with children and young people across our various departments, restarting youth work from Pokesdown Youth Centre and getting involved with our sports based children and youth services in Broadstone as well as leading and supporting the youth team based in Townsend. We are looking for a qualified and experienced individual, who is flexible and capable of implementing and developing our youth strategy whilst remaining people focussed and financially aware of budgeting and funding implications as new work develops. Salary (full-time role) £31,000.00 - £35,000.00 per annum, dependent on experience/qualifications. As a Fitness Experience Team Member you will be a multifunctional team member, who can be competent, proactive, and assist our guests and members in their fitness journey with knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm. You will be a minimum of a level 2 qualified fitness instructor (perhaps working toward level 3 personal trainer) with an eagerness to learn. A Fitness Experience Team Member will be meeting and greeting members, sell sports drinks at the till, teach 30 minute gym floor classes, and ensure the club is presentable to a high standard. Salary (part-time role) £11.44 per hour / £8,923.20 per annum. Our Child Contact Centres in Southbourne and Townsend are fully accredited by the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC). We provide opportunities for families to maintain relationships even when they do not live together. We facilitate supervised, supported and handover family time both in the centres and in the community. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and committed manager  with excellent leadership and communication skills, who shares our passion to improve the outcomes for children and families. As Child Contact Centre Manager you will:
  • Organise, supervise, record and assess family time with an awareness of safeguarding
  • Rota and line manage practitioners and volunteers to ensure the service is safe, efficient and of high quality
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, Local Authorities, social workers, solicitors and other professionals and service users whilst ensuring contact demands are met
You need:
  • A child centred approach to family work
  • An ability to work closely and non-judgementally with other people, showing an understanding of boundaries and a commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to deal sensitively with people under stress
  • Good IT skills
  • The ability to prioritise competing demands, meet tight deadlines, co-ordinate workloads and delegate tasks
  • A minimum qualification of NVQ Level 4 Children & Families related
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car
Salary (full time role) £29,000.00 - £34,000.00 per annum, dependent on experience/qualifications. The available role is for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, but some weekend cover may be necessary, days off in lieu will be given. Teddy’s Preschool in Pokesdown is an in-the-moment setting, and therefore has no forward planned activities, but instead our Early Year’s practitioners share in the joy of each learning moment that arises with the children. You have the freedom to be as creative as you can to ensure that our children get the best possible learning experience, whilst you have fun too. We also use an online observation system, so no more piles of paperwork! Fed up of being stuck inside as an Early Year’s practitioner? We have a great outside space and free-flow access to it in all weathers – this is a major part of this role, and so a strong passion for outdoor learning would be highly desirable. We also support children with additional needs and English as an additional language, and so experience in these areas is a must.   Salary (full time role) £18,351.24 per annum.
