YMCA Bournemouth has revealed a sea of positive results achieved for its services over the past year, thanks to the tireless efforts of its team and ongoing valued support from local communities.

Between 1st April 2021 and 31st March 2022, YMCA Bournemouth supported and housed 174 individuals, provided more than 53,000 meals, and hosted 850 counselling sessions. It also worked with over 200 young people per week and promoted 4,000+ Holiday Club sessions.

In the past century, YMCA Bournemouth has helped tens of thousands of individuals throughout Dorset. Its well-known housing support services are just one strand of its extensive offering.

Today, the organisation has over a dozen sites, including dedicated accommodation on Westover Road, providing short-term supported housing for men and women aged 18 and over.

Its Westover Road site is also home to Lifewise Fitness Suite, due to reopen later this year following a complete refurbishment, and the organisation also owns and manages The Junction Sports and Leisure Centre in Broadstone. Both establishments host more than 5,000 members within Dorset; run as not for profit, the membership fees directly support YMCA Bournemouth’s work to aid the local community.

YMCA Bournemouth’s services also include children’s centres, contact centres, community hubs, youth clubs, affordable one-to-one counselling, and various training courses to BCP residents and the surrounding areas.

YMCA Bournemouth encourages local volunteering and receives funding from its local community to add to its good work and tireless efforts in transforming local people’s lives for the better.
