Jackie joined YMCA Bournemouth in 2012, and is very much enjoying her challenging role in this multi-faceted charity. Previously she has worked in similar roles in Education and a local company, being responsible for Finance, HR, Premises management and IT. She has recently taken a plunge into the good life and has moved to West Dorset to pursue her love of gardening. She also enjoys cooking for family and friends, reading and the theatre. She is a keen follower of sport, supporting the Bournemouth Cherries and loves attending live sporting events, most recently Twickenham and Wimbledon, as well as her season ticket at Dean Court. She has three children and has recently become a grand-mother.
Mark joined YMCA Bournemouth in 1996 and progressed from Fitness Supervisor to Director of Operations. Mark now oversees all the YMCA’s work with young people, the marketing team and its programmes. A qualified Youth Worker Mark co-ordinates his Church’s youth work, is enjoying fatherhood with his children Poppy and Monty, but still finds time to enjoy football and most sports.
Head of Housing
Kathie joined the YMCA in 2016. She has a BSC in Housing and a L5 diploma in Management & Leadership. Kathie – who originally trained as a nurse – has over 25 years experience in social housing and has held several senior posts in a variety of housing organisations. Kathie is passionate about the provision of high quality supported housing. Outside of work, Kathie enjoys music, reading, visiting National Trust properties, walking and yoga.
Business Development Manager
Lucy joined YMCA in October 2013, having worked in the third sector since graduating university in 1999.
Lucy oversees marketing, events, communications and income generation. She has a particular passion for young people’s projects, community regeneration and cohesion and homelessness.
Outside of work, Lucy is a dedicated & competitive distance runner, (entering far too many races than she should!) mum of two young children and can be found at the beach for most of the year with her dog, Teddy.
Building & Services Development Manager
Jonathan joined the YMCA staff team in 2005, having previously served the Association as a board member. Jonathan looks after all the Building Services and IT functions of the Association across all sites, ensuring all our buildings are safe and pleasant to work in. After graduating from Bournemouth University Jonathan became head of IT for a locally based company. Jonathan has also undertaken various project management/consultancy roles with major Sports companies, and other well-known organisations. Married to Clare with 2 young children he enjoys fatherhood, football and DIY as well as being a presenter on Hope FM’s breakfast show.
Head of Family and Relationship Services
Jackie joined the YMCA staff team in May 2017. As Head of Family and Relationship Services she is able to use her previous experience as a school leader in various primary schools in Bournemouth and London to improve outcomes for our children and families.
Outside of work Jackie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her young granddaughter who encourages her to look at the world with fresh eyes. She is an avid football fan, theatre goer and shopper for shoes.
Head of Leisure, Health & Fitness
With YMCA Bournemouth taking over the Broadstone Leisure Centre in mid-2009, Martin joined the team/employment of the YMCA. With a career in Leisure, Fitness and Sport spanning over twenty five years Martin has managed and been involved in several leisure sites gaining a wealth of experience covering Programming, New Facility Builds, Holiday Clubs, Business Marketing and Special Events (A Fund-Raising George Best/Denis Law Dinner, an International Badminton Match of England v China, Quarter Marathons etc.. to name but three…). Outside work he enjoys weight-training and time with his four children, the occasional game of Golf (badly) and watches too much Football.
H R Manager
Sarah started working at the YMCA in 2014, following a 31 year varied career in financial services. Having been born in London, she has lived in Bournemouth for most of her life, where she met her husband in 2009.
As well as holding various leadership roles within the church, Sarah is an accomplished pianist and organist and has played for several choirs and individuals over the years. She also enjoys singing, shopping, ten-pin bowling, badminton, going to the theatre and dining out with friends.
Ronnie is the Finance Manager at YMCA Bournemouth. This job role includes all aspects of Finance and payroll. Ronnie has been in this role since October 2015 and enjoys the challenges that it brings. She has worked for the YMCA since 2009 when The Junction Leisure Centre was taken over, previously working at The Junction since 1993.
Outside of work she enjoys reading, meeting up with friends, watching Rugby, going to Bootcamp 3 times a week, spending time with her husband Paul and her cat Lilly.
Jez Du Puy
Jez joined the YMCA team in March 2015 and is enjoying the challenge of his new role. Jez is passionate about supporting people and seeing people’s lives changed. As well as spending time with his Fiancee, Jez loves all kinds of sport and any opportunity for a challenge or adventure and is very happy if he can combine all of these things.
Head of Youth Work
Angela settled in Bournemouth after several life-changing gap years; volunteering with deaf and street children in Mali and working overseas in France and the Caribbean. After her Masters degree, Angela moved down to the sea from Bucks for an internship with the British Red Cross and then didn’t want to leave!
In her spare time, Angela can be found pumping iron in one of our gyms. She also co-organises an annual breakdance festival but has hung up her own headspin hat for now.
