We believe in nurturing whole communities, for the whole of life
It’s easy to forget that we are integrated beings. We have a mind, and a body and a soul. Since its birth, the YMCA has been committed to providing places where our whole selves can thrive. At the chaplaincy department, our primary job is to care for the soul. Our work is to help people rediscover a relationship with their own souls. We want to help people discover deep worth, identity and purpose within a relationship with God.
If you would like a listening ear, someone to pray with or some pastoral support, please get in touch using the contact form below.
On the ground, the Chaplaincy Team is involved with all aspects of YMCA life. We run drop-in sessions for people experiencing homelessness and the recently sheltered. We offer one-to-one listening sessions for all staff, volunteers and residents. We offer sports and social clubs. We work in partnership with churches, charities, council members and grant-making trusts. And we are always open to new ideas.
