What is a 6th Form & College Sleep Easy?

For many years, schools and colleges have been hosting Sleep Easy fundraising events on behalf of YMCA Bournemouth.

Here’s how it works:

  • Students: Sixth-form students seek sponsorship, build shelters out of cardboard boxes, and spend the night (in a safe environment at the school/college) ‘sleeping rough so others don’t have to.’
  • YMCA Support: We provide comprehensive guidance, set up the fundraising platform, and supply all the materials and presentations your institution needs to make the event a success.
  • Benefits: Students enjoy raising awareness and funds to combat homelessness, staff value the team-building and educational aspects, and everyone finds the experience rewarding and impactful.

A Look Back at 2024

Last year, 16 schools and colleges participated, raising a staggering £68,293 to support homelessness services in Dorset.

🏆 Top Fundraiser: Lytchett Minster School raised an incredible £7,918.07!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and contributed much-needed funds to combat homelessness.
